PDFlora is a collection of tools for everyday PDF work: merging, splitting, compressing, converting, signing, protecting and more. It is built so that you can finish a task without creating an account.

What the site does

The tools cover five kinds of jobs: organizing pages, optimizing file size, converting to and from PDF, editing and signing, and security and OCR. Each tool has its own page that explains what it does, how to use it and, just as importantly, what it cannot do.

The site is available in English, French, Spanish and Arabic, with a right-to-left layout for Arabic. There is no account, no watermark added by us and no charge for the tools; visitors can optionally leave a voluntary tip.

Browser processing and server processing

Most tools run in your browser. Your file is read on your own device using JavaScript and WebAssembly, the result is created in memory and you download it. The file is not uploaded and we do not store it. This includes merging, splitting, compressing, rotating, OCR, signing, redacting and protecting.

Four tools need server software: Word to PDF, Excel to PDF, PowerPoint to PDF and HTML to PDF. For these, the file is uploaded over HTTPS, converted with LibreOffice or WeasyPrint in a private temporary folder, sent back to you and deleted immediately afterwards, and also on failure or timeout. Each tool page states clearly which mode it uses, so you always know where your file goes.

Our principles

We try to keep the service simple, honest and respectful of your data.

  • Be honest about limits: every tool page lists what it cannot do, from scanned files that need OCR to conversions that will not match the original layout perfectly.
  • Prefer processing on your device whenever it is technically possible.
  • Collect as little data as we can. Analytics and advertising only run with your consent, and you can change your choice at any time.
  • Never claim more than the software does: no invented reviews, ratings or download counts.

What we do not do

We do not read your documents, we do not use them for training or analytics, and we do not sell them. We do not keep a library of uploaded files. We do not ask for your personal details to use a tool.

We also do not promise miracles. A visual signature is not a certified digital signature, a text-to-Word conversion does not reproduce complex layouts, and OCR accuracy depends on scan quality. We try to say so plainly before you use a tool.
