How it works
Step 1: Choose the base PDF, the document that will receive the new pages.
Step 2: Add the PDF, or several PDFs, that you want to insert.
Step 3: Pick the position: at the start, at the end, or after a page number of the base PDF.
Step 4: Create the file and download the combined PDF.
Inserting is not the same as merging
A plain merge puts whole files end to end. Inserting lets you open a gap inside a document: you choose a base PDF, add the PDF or PDFs to insert, and pick the position, which is the start, the end, or after page N of the base.
The inserted pages are copied into the result with their own dimensions and are not re-rendered, so text and images stay exactly as they were. When you insert several PDFs at once, they all go in together at that single position.
If you need the opposite operation, taking pages out of a document, use Extract PDF Pages or Delete PDF Pages instead.

A signed page inside a contract
Scan the signed page, then insert it after page 12 of the agreement. Remove the unsigned version afterwards with Delete PDF Pages.
An appendix in a report
Slip a separate data appendix in before the bibliography instead of rebuilding the report from its source file.
A cover letter in front of a submission
Insert a one-page cover letter at the start of a grant application so reviewers see it first.
Receipts placed by expense line
Put a scanned receipt right after the expense-form page it belongs to rather than pooling everything at the end.
A revised chapter in a manual
Insert the updated chapter where the old one sits, then delete the outdated pages, and the manual is current again.

Good to know
- The whole of each inserted PDF is added. To bring in only some of its pages, prepare them first with Extract PDF Pages.
- All the files you add go to one position per run. To insert at several different places, run the tool again on the result.
- Password-protected PDFs, base or inserted, must be unlocked first with Unlock PDF.
- Pages are copied, so document-level features such as bookmarks and editable form fields are not guaranteed to carry over.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between inserting and merging PDFs?
Merging joins whole files one after another, while inserting places one PDF inside another at a position you choose, such as after page 5. If you only need end-to-end joining, Merge PDF is quicker.
Can I insert a PDF in the middle of another PDF?
Yes. Choose the option to insert after a page and enter the page number of the base PDF. The inserted pages appear directly after it.
Can I insert several PDFs at once?
Yes. You can add more than one PDF to insert, and they all go in together at the position you selected.
How do I replace a page instead of inserting one?
Insert the new page after the old one, then remove the old page with Delete PDF Pages. Doing it in that order keeps the position easy to count.
Will the inserted pages keep their size?
Yes. Each page keeps its own dimensions, so a Letter-size page can sit inside an A4 document without being stretched.
Are my files uploaded when I insert pages?
No. The pages are copied and assembled in your browser, so neither the base file nor the inserted files leave your device.
