Why PNG files behave differently from photos
PNG stores pictures without losing detail, which is why screenshots, interface mockups, charts and logos are usually saved this way: text stays crisp and flat colours stay flat. This converter embeds each PNG without recompression, so what you see in the image is what ends up in the PDF.
PNG can also carry transparency. Areas that are see-through in the image stay see-through in the PDF, so a logo or a cut-out shape shows the white of the page behind it rather than a solid box. You then choose the page size, orientation and margin, rotate individual images if needed, and set the order before you convert.

What happens to transparent areas
A PNG with transparency has an extra channel telling each pixel how see-through it is. The converter keeps that information, so the PDF does not fill the background with black or a colour of its own. On screen, a PDF viewer normally shows the white page behind the image; when printed, the paper shows through.
This matters for logos and stickers, but it can surprise you with screenshots of dark-mode apps or images whose text was designed for a dark background. If light-coloured text or icons look faded on a white page, the fix is on the image side: export it with a solid background before converting. Semi-transparent shadows and soft edges are kept as they are and blend with whatever is behind them.

Good to know
- Only .png files are accepted here. Other formats go through JPG to PDF or Images to PDF.
- PNG photos are large. A photograph saved as PNG can make a PDF many times bigger than the same picture as JPG.
- Text inside a screenshot is a picture of text; it cannot be selected or searched unless you run OCR PDF afterwards.
- The tool refuses files above 200 MB, and very large batches depend on your device's memory.

Does PNG to PDF keep the transparent background?
Yes. Transparent pixels stay transparent in the PDF, so the page colour, normally white, shows through instead of a solid box.
Will my screenshots stay sharp in the PDF?
Yes. PNG images are embedded without recompression, so text and thin lines keep the crispness they have in the original file.
Why is the PDF so large when I only added a few PNG files?
PNG is lossless, so photographs and gradients take a lot of space. If size matters, convert photos with JPG to PDF or shrink the finished file with Compress PDF.
Are my screenshots uploaded anywhere?
No. The images are read and converted in your browser and are not sent to a server, which is useful when they show private messages or account pages.
Can I put PNG and JPG files in the same PDF?
Not in this tool, which only accepts PNG. Use Images to PDF for a mix of formats, or convert each set separately and combine the results with Merge PDF.
